Setting up Web Forum
Hello you Happy peeps...Not been in this part of Forum in a heck of a long time.....
As you all know, MSN (the idiots) are closeing down their Groups..
How much does it cost to set one up like you got here with "Jupiter OnlineMedia"..How much do they charge n is it easy to set up..
Also, is there a page that lets you do a Live Chat....

phpbb is a free forum script which can be found at http://www.phpbb.com. you can find endless reading material and modifications at their website to customize it however you wish.
Next you need a domain name and webhost. you can get a free webhost that supports php and mysql but will probably slap your forum with a lot of ads. you can pay for a webhost, such as godaddy.com, who incidently is also a domain registrar so you will have a website that is available to the public.
so in short, buy a domain name, get a hosting plan, download forum software. its easy. only thing to watch out for is people offering to install the forum software for you. it takes like 5 minutes but there are people willing to charge £200 for this. Just read the guides and do it yourself

There are free forum packages out there, but none of them comes close to vBulletin. I run a forum of my own for about $250 a year, hosting included.
