which is better amd or intel processors
Coke Pepsi
Ford Chevy
It used to be AMD was better for gaming and Intel was best for business applications but I'm not too sure that matters much anymore.
What do you want to do?
Believe me, it makes a difference.
Most folks a $300 desktop is more than a plenty no matter what the cpu..
what do you mean what do i want to do i just want to do all around stuff like little gaming and other stuff but revolve around the internet
Gaming is fine, but what games?
I do not think you want to spend $17,000 for a Mach 4 Bragging rights. http://www.falcon-nw.com/config/machv.asp
im just looking for a laptop not a high tech desktop but a laptop in the range of 1500 bucks
im not looking to play stuff like crisis but just the basic games not a 4000 $ worth of hardware
In described notebook scenario and budget,
Processor brand alone will not be a determining factor.

By Vince Freeman : November 5, 2008
OCZ Technology has unveiled their latest DIY 15" Gaming Notebook, combining the features and performance of the Intel Centrino platform with the flexibility to pick and choose between various components that many enthusiasts demand. This latest expansion to the OCZ Do-It-Yourself Gaming Laptop line allows users to design their own powerhouse mobile system, and this time in a 15-inch, Intel Centrino notebook format. OCZ has tried to balance the gaming and performance sides of their DIY Gaming Notebooks, while making sure it can support up to the ultra-powerful Core 2 Extreme mobile processor.
The base configuration includes a 15.4" WXGA+ 1280x800 glossy display and a motherboard based on the Intel PM45 + ICH9M chipset, which can take any socket-compatible Core 2 Duo/Extreme mobile processor, support up to 8GB of DDR2-800 memory, and handle any drive from 80 to 500GB, in a 5400/7200RPM 2.5" SATA hard drive or SSD format. The graphic support is excellent, and the latest OCZ DIY Gaming Notebook sports an onboard ATI Radeon HD3650 GPU with 512MB of dedicated GDDR3 for full DirectX 10.1 gaming. Other standard hardware includes a 24x CD-R/RW, 8xDVD+/-R, 6x DVD+/-R DL Combo DVD drive (optional Blu-ray), high-def surround sound, a touchpad + keyboard, and a 6-cell li-ion battery. OCZ has yet to announce suggested retail pricing.

For good, all-around, all-purpose performance you'll do fine with a Dell laptop with an Intel CPU. I use AMD on all my desktop homebuilds, but my laptop is an Intel Dell (an older, souped-up Latitude D505) and it does everything I ask of it. Do yourself two favors, though:
- If buying new, try to find XP on it or buy on that is backward-compatible to install XP. Vista is a pig on a laptop.
- Buy a wired mouse to use with it. Touchpads are strictly for use on your lap, not a tabletop or desk.
