[Pro] print driver trouble (HP 8150dn)...

The setup does not load in regulare boot mode. When trying in safe mode, setup runs normally then fatally fails once the installation begins.

The printer is on the network and the drivers are to be installed on the client computer.

I am using the latest setup from HP website, the ij8150 file (8150 printing system, 40mb)

I follow the install steps (in safe mode):
1. Install printer
2. connected to network
3. basic MS server install (client controlled)
4. search printer (it finds it on network)
5. Using windows tcp/ip
6. Use default port name is selected (default setting)
7. Install
8 Error comes up "...has encountered severe error and will now exit."

I have download just the drivers, but not sure how to manually install them for a network printer.

Setup.exe does show up in taskmanager installing from a regular boot but it's not taking any cpu cycles, stuck at "00".

after 15 minutes of idle, Setup dialog pops up and stalls at 99%.

After about 40 minutes of idle, the installer started and I was able to install the printer successfully.

I tried the install on another system and there was no idle or problem. I am wondering if the problem computer has some malware.

I had difficulty installing the ATX/MAX accounting tax software where it would only install in safe mode on the trouble machine.
