wowexec.exe
I noticed "wowexec.exe" in my task manager just a little while ago. I read some other posts on the site and elsewhere saying that it is related to 16 bit processes for Windows. This makes sense, since I used my monitor's setup CD and it launched ntvdm.exe, which as I understand it is a virtual DOS machine. Though, when I see "wowexec.exe" listed in my task manager it shows up as"_wowexec.exe" (the underscore being a space). I have a screenshot attached below.
The "wowexec.exe" file doesn't have a PID in task manager, it doesn't show as taking up any memory and I don't see a prefecth file for it in my prefetch folder. I scanned earlier today with CA's online scan and my onboard AVG and both were clean. I was just looking for confirmation that this is indeed the legit MS file I think it is.

Totally normal - its a subprocess of ntvdm, hence no memory/pid.
