Hi, wondering if you people that have installed SP1 and have ultimate enterprise or business what happened to gpedit.msc?
What happens when you run gpedit.msc from the run box?
Gpedit runs perfectly on my Vista Ultimate SP1.
Hi, I have not installed SP1, however an associate has, after typing gpedit.msc he gets MMC snap in cannot be loaded and a clsid reference. Using mmc to add group policy manager results in the same thing I googled and found many references to SP1 removing Gpedit.msc from vista with SP1 .. trying to get a handle on it.
Vista Ultimate with SP1 and Gpedit.msc opens fine after tell the UAC to continue.

Hi, thanks Steve I thought we might be onto something here, unfortunately it didn't work. I have discovered that his original install of SP1 was Beta and did not go well, it reverted with system restore and he still had problems he used erunt to fix this, ever since then he say's the system has not been stable.. SP1 he thought would fix it.. may have to back up and format which brings me to, has anyone slipstreamed SP1 into a vista DVD?
So far as I know it isn't possible to slipstream SP1 yourself anymore. If you have a Technet or MSDN subscription then you can download an ISO of Vista with SP1 integrated from there though.

I have a sneaking hunch, a clean install will be a time saver in the long run.
Hi, thanks for the help looks like a format is coming up.
