[RESOLVED] Weird .EXE folder

I am trying to fix a PC with some weird program on it. In every folder it places a folder with the exact same name but it has a .exe extension (like an executable folder). What is it and how do I get rid of it.

That sounds like malware of some type. You might want to post a HijackThis log for review.

The problem was caused by a worm called Win32/VB.EU. I downloaded and installed AVG which picked it up and quarantined it.
