flash 9
on two separate occasions with two different computers i've encountered issues with flash not installing correctly (IE). on adobes site it will only show a " mark where the animation should be. now on the one computer i did a test and installed firefox and it worked fine for firefox but not IE. Well that computer had other issues as well and I ended up just formatting the drive and reinstalling. after that it worked fine.
now the second computer i uninstalled flash 9 and install flash 6 and it worked fine except a couple sites that wanted the lasted player again firefox worked fine.
What is the issue here. note: i'm nowhere near these computers now so i can't do any tests.

Here are the steps I've had to take on a few machines:- Uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX control

- Remove the Macromedia Flash Player ActiveX control
Includes: How "To manually uninstall the ActiveX control (Flash Players 6 and earlier only)"

- Install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player

filehippo also lists the latest Flash Player for IE as a standalone executable. This may install better for you than the interactive download from Adobe. I would run the latest uninstaller for Flash Player 9 before trying it. (Running the uninstaller will mean you'll need to reload the Firefox version again.)
