Would you buy Ultimate again.

I personally bought Home Premium and haven't regretted paying the extra for Ultimate. Just wondered what you Ultimate uses think.

That's a hard one for me. I got one copy free because I was a beta tester, and the other I got very cheap through my MVP award. I do like Vista Ultimate, and at US prices I think I would buy it again. At the ludicrous UK prices though, I don't think I would, it's just too much of a premium over here.

I got mine (Ultimate) for half-price, which made it much less than HP. I wouldn't pay full retail for it when it came out. I doubt if I would now, either. Although I haven't explored everything Ultimate supposedly has, the same features I do use are also on our new laptop with Vista HP. I wanted the full boat package just in case, but I'm not big on media work so I guess I didn't really need it. Still nice to have, I guess.

I was able to try Ultimate with my RC1 and RC2 previews.
Besides the fact that I like to be able to do all that is possible with my OS the only thing I miss is being able to run SUA on Ultimate.

With XP this (SFU) made the difference between purchasing Professional and Home.

I passed with Vista, I purchased Home Basic. For me Premium only offered DVD play with Media Center, and the amazing Aero interface, neither of which I need. I loaded the Starter Edition while using RC1 and other than possibly screen resolution it would cover my Windows needs. No wonder it is not sold in the US.

Seriously, Windows prices should be at least half of what they are. Microsoft is only able to hold them there due to their monopoly of OEM installs.

No regrets. I love playing Dreamscenes on my Desktop every two weeks or so.....just because I can. Shallow, I know.....

Seriously, I like it for the media features, eye candy, security, eye candy, and the good looks.

I'd probably go for Ultimate again.

Remote desktop server is a must-have for me at home, and SUA is nice to have (saves messing around with Cygwin).

I'd also go nuts if I was using Home Premium and didn't have access to all the management tools like Group Policy Editor.

I have found that everything that I used with XP runs with Vista Ultimate and I like the graphics alot. I got my copy at a discount and I also have 2 other copies that I paid regular price for. I may give the home copy to my neice as I don't have it on any of my machines anymore and she could use the added features.

All in all, I like the ultimate os works great.
