Embedded YouTube video's play without sound.
Whenever I visit a site that has those YouTube video's that are embedded on the page on that site and play them I don't get any sound. When I double-click on them and they are run directly from Youtube's site the sound works normally. They both make use of the same Flash player. I don't get it. What is different? Why won't the embedded version play any sound?
Someone here apparently has linked it to the newer Flash players (I have version 8 installed).
Here is a very long thread on the issue but the registry entry mentioned there already exists and the Audio Service that is mentioned there is running and the audio playback device is properly set to the sound card (SoundBlaster Live!) so it hasn't provided me with the solution yet.
I don't know whether it's related but it's also suffering from the 'Pops and Clicks' phenomenon many others experience too. It gets particularly bad during hard disk activity. Possibly a shared interrupt thing. I always wanted to change it to a different slot but the few times I have opened the computer for other things I forgot about that issue. It's a bit of a job to open it so I never am sufficiently bothered to open it up just for that.
I just mentioned it in case someone can link the two together.
