[RESOLVED] Problem Hosting StarCraft Games
hey all,
i've done some pretty thorough research on this issue and i'm still not coming up with a solution.
i'm currently unable to host games on Starcraft. whenever anyone tries to join, they're met with the error "Unable to join - The latency of the game creator is too high" (although recently i was able to get one friend to join, but no more than him).
there's no problem with my connection speed, it clocks at 3.2 mb/s on test websites. the only soft firewall that i have installed is the windows XP firewall (im running pro sp2) which seems to be corrupted. when i try to start it, it says "windows cannot start the windows firewall/ICS device," which leads me to believe that the firewall is disabled.
my desktop computer is currently jacked into my wireless NETGEAR WGR614v6 router, and i have followed the steps on www.portforward.com to open port 6112 both UDP and TCP to allow hosting of Starcraft games
my problem still persists, however. although my friend was able to join the other day, nobody else has ever managed to join a game of mine (note that this friend was NOT on my LAN connection)
