I am wondering if there is an adaptor (little box or connection box) for sale, that serves the function of getting the computer monitors (e.g. 19" LCD screens) to act as a TV screen (no sound needed) to accept TV signal [from a dvd unit] which has a coaxial connection (which usually goes into regular TVs).

If that DVD unit has a composite output on it, then there are certainly adapters available:

I've never heard of one that can convert RF direct to VGA though.
You could also use a VGA-To-Component adapter(Male and Female), providing the DVD player has a component out.

OneBigNewbie--If you have a DVD-ROM drive on your PC tower and a video player app installed, you should be able to just stick the DVD in and play it.

I think I had confused you with my question. To clarify:
- I have a TV signal and an outlet TV [coaxial] cable from a device
which is not the regular DVD player [it is a video mixer unit].
- I have a 19" LCD flat screen computer monitor (not a TV screen)
How can I get the TV signal to display on my 19" monitor ?
Only way I can think of is a tv capture card. Just hooking up cables, I don't think, will do it.
