Question about ICONS
I am in the process of building a website and I have various .html files saved on my computer for the website ... the icon associated with these files isn't the BLUE E that represents IE7 .. its a white page with a blue frame and some dots inside the blue frame ... the files do open properly with IE7 ... I have tried changing the icon to the IE7 icon and it won't change to that ...
I have checked under the file association and it definitely says to open this type of file with IE, but yet I can't get the IE7 to appear and believe me I have tried setting it .... I know its really no big deal, but I can't help wondering why it won't change to that icon ... any suggestions ???
thanks a million

You have them saved with the .htm or .html extension?
-
they are saved with the .html extension .... the icons not being the IE icons is no big deal, is it ?
-
The icon is a "NO Big Deal" thing.
Reason I asked the above is I have seen this, index.htm.txt after enabling show all extensions.
Someone goofed on the file assocciation on her computer and wondered why the would not work when uploaded.
-
thanks .... I named the files for example index.html ... I figured it was no big deal ... I can click on them and they do open up in IE .... so I guess outside of the icon not being right, everything is okay

Good to go then. :D
But when you get things uploaded, if possible, check the pages with a different computer. Can save one lots of headaches sometimes.

okay Train ... what did you do :) ... I have tried for the past couple of days to get the right icon associated with the html file and there was no way anything was working ... you reply to my post and all of a sudden the IE icon is there .... did you work some magic from where you are :D ... thanks for the replies ....

LOL
Surprising what a shutdown, then a boot up will do sometimes. ;) :)
Glad to hear things are back where they belong.
-
train ... I never said anything about a shutdown :) ... I turned the comp on this morning after it being off all night and I never had any IE icons beside my html files, because I checked them .... I then came on here and read your reply to which I replied ... I never turned the comp off or rebooted it ... about an hour later I was working on the website and I noticed that my html files now had IE ICONS  ... so in my eyes, since I tried everything before posting on here, I have come to the conclusion that its some type of magic from you :D ....
