HP DV9010 US standby mode issues ?

Hey guys we got a new HP laptop DV9010us windows 2005 media edtion and when we first got the laptop it would go into Stand By mode just fine and come out of it by just moving our microsoft wireless mouse , now for the last month it will not fully go into standby mode just the screen goes black and pc is still running and to get out of Standby mode,= to get the desktop or any screen back we have to do a full re-boot?
Any ideas what could be causing this, we did the battery removal and re install deal HP tech supportless suggested no help?

I found an article on HP's website that states there is a problem with quick launch buttons and a fix is available. See if this helps. I'm not MCE savy but I don't think a sfc /scannow or a chkdsk /r will fix this, and I'm not real sure these options work in MCE.
