Just installed IE7 last night on this XP Pro SP2 machine. Thus far, I have found no way to keep the Links toolbar locked so that it is displayed when I open a browser. :mad: That is really an important feature to me. (If I can't fix it, I may grab my Ghost image and revert back to what I had.) Any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks!

Did you try putting the links shortcut down in the task tray (by the time) :)
Ps. you can also delete IE7 from the add / remove folder.
It will be listed as Windows IE7. Once deleted you will have IE6 back. I suggest giving it a chance. ;)

Besides the issue that prompted me to post initially, now this morning the last three or four times that I've tried to access the Tools, Toolbars, Links screen, I'm getting an error that a .DLL file cannot be opened. :confused:
I appreciate your mentioning that IE7 could be expunged via the Add/Remove applet. I've just now nuked it and I'm back to what I'm happy with. :D

Glad to see you found your way back Limerick. May have been a glitch in the downloading. I think IE7 may be worth another try sometime down the road.

Thanks again, tpm. When the IE7 app comes along as an automatic Windows update, I'll give it another shot. (Keeping handy, of course, my then-newly-created Ghost image so as to be able to completely reverse the changes, if need be.) ;)

I mean that I would open a browser and there was no Links toolbar showing. I would then go to Tools, Toolbars, place a check by the Links option, and also place one by the Lock the toolbars choice. If I then closed the browser and opened it again, the Links toolbar was not showing. I would think that this is a "sticky" change and that it should be showing the Links toolbar the next time a browser was opened. Is that not right? Thanks!Quote:

Yes Limerick. Once you selected a toolbar or "links" it should then be just as you left it when you rebooted or went back into Internet Explorer. Uninstalling and reinstall may be the answer. Good luck! :)
Limerick--Or you could try Start|Run|type sfc /scannow|OK to attempt to fix any corrupt files. Have your Win CD ready. You may be asked for it.
