Hmm, there are quite a few, but when I first saw Friday the 13th, it scared me! But that was the first one, before they came out with "Jason and the Frogs" :rolleyes:

Oh also the Dracula movies with Christopher Lee used give me sleepless nights when I was ten :eek:
The Exorcist is the usual film to come top of the list, and i agree, and can see why, any horror film where they use young children as the main character usually does exactly what is says on the tin.
The newer horrors don't have the same effect as the classics, but new effects sure make them good, things like "The Ring" and some of those crazy Japanese horrors, "Ju-On" for one.

When I was little.....Night of the Living Dead scared me pretty good. George Romero made that movie around here where I live. In fact...the opening scenes are shot in a cemetery where my father is burried...about 20 minutes from here.
That local "flavor" (excuse the bad pun)....tended to increase the tension....particularly when the scenes would mention towns and such I knew and have been to. Sorta the Pittsbugh area version of War of the Worlds....but I don't think anyone took it serious enough to grab a gun and go zombie hunting. :D

Maxx.. I remember seeing it with that title as well. It still gets shown on TV very very occasionally.
Since we are also mentioning what scared us as kids .....
I saw Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte when I was about 6 and didn't sleep peacefully for days and days :D
I saw it again for only the second time a few years ago, because I was too afraid to watch it again .... I guess I have seen enough scary movies over the years - because when I saw it again I was like "huh" .... what scared me so bad about this :D
It was good to cast out that old demon ;)
Oh.... and another movie that gave me nightmares was American Werewolf In London. Those Nazi monster creatures really freaked me out ;)
..... and Maxx.... I just watched Night of the Living Dead the other night and realized the end credits thanking Pittsburgh and its residents :D
I don't know the name of it, but the one that scared me really badly as a kid was something about a wheelchair...all I remember is a wheelchair chasing people and killing them. Of course, my brother and sister hiding under my bed and scaring the crap out of me didn't help any. :rolleyes:
The Saw movies are pretty scary, and looking forward to Saw III as well.
Dean Koontz' Intensity has to be pretty high up on my list. I prefer his books, but that movie was freaky!!
The Exorcist is on AMC ..... right now ... and no I'm not watching it :D
