Hiya..... :)
Some of you may be fans or have at least seen the TV show....Mythbusters....where a group of people test different things which have been repeated so often, that everyone thinks they are true. They test the "myths' for scientific and real-world possibility of being true and label it either Confirmed, Busted or Plausable. I would like to do the same thing with some of those tired, feel-good cliches that we hear every day. Letes start with this classic:
Money can't buy happiness.
Now personally....in looking back at my life....the times I was most happy was when I had a good job and some cash in my pocket. The sad times coincide nicely with those times of no job or massive bills. If I were to graph my financial status over my life....and overlay an index of happiness....they would be very closly aligned. Now all I have to go on is my own experience....and that is what this thread is about. Your own experience....not the neighbor's best freind's cousin you know that hit the lottery was still sad. How does this cliche' apply to you?
Confirmed
Busted
Plausable
I am going with busted...... ;)
If this works well....we can have a new cliche' each week or something....
