Anybody using Microsoft's attempt to eventually dethrone Google?

Which is a point......does Google even need to be dethroned....and by the likes of MS which also needs kicked out of their guilded chair?

I have mixed feelings about Google.....and I don't have a Googasm every time they announce a new feature. I use their search because it is the best one....but sometimes I think Google is getting too big, too fast. The government dragged MS into court for being a defacto monopoly....can Google find themselves there too in the future?

I've just started using it tonight. It's too early to tell yet, but I'm hoping that it'll give me more relevant sites than Google. I'm fed up with getting 10,000,000 sites that want to sell me something when what I want is some basic info :mad:

I haven't used it as of yet ..... I might try it out so I can compare... I think I am just too use to using google ;)

Something else that ALL the search engines need to find a way to filter too is.....hijack logs.

How many times have you run a search on a particular file name or registry key....only to get several thousand hits from people that have posted logs in forums all over the world. It's next to impossible to simply find a site with information about it sometimes.... :rolleyes:

How well I know :rolleyes: ... drives me nuts :(

How do you go to the next page on an image search? :confused:

Or maybe my Ad-Block Plus is blocking a button or two?

I think it's an okay SE, they're trying to make it similar, but unique way of displaying things, on the image search at least, the way the stats about each pic is hidden unless you place the cursor over it, and the easy way of adjusting how many images per page with the scale at the top....if only i could get to page 2.

EDIT: AND the size menu is cool, just because of the choice by resolution instead of small/medium/large, and the fact that you can just pick "My Desktop Size".

Looks like you just scroll down the page and more images will appear. Just one really huge page rather than multiple. Sorta like the way Adobe Acrobat displays pages.....one big scroll.....

Nope, i'm getting: 1-15 of 702,073, and no scrolling at all when maximised....

Strange....I get a vertical scrollbar all the time...... :confused:

BTW...the scrollbar I am talking about is not the standard browser type bar....

This scroller is inside the page....so likely a javascript or something. Got those things turned on in your settings?

I've been trying 'Live' since your post Maxx and it's very similar to Google I think, not quite as fast....but that may be my pc.
I was quite surprised by 'Live' tonight, as I clicked the 'sign-in' link for the first time ...... it went thru some motions and then said 'Hi Len'??....and I had not been asked for any info, or to register, etc???
So how did MS hook me up to the 'live' network ??.....from info in my pc???.

Does it come up with the usual faux pas like when you Google Steve Irwin Dead and the top sponsored link comes up saying Buy Steve Irwin Dead on eBay
