Shatner Roast

Anyone see the William Shatner roast last night? I bet JP had a party for the event..... :D

Anyway....there were some humorous moments even if it was less than some the old Dean Martin roasts I use to watch. Those were great. But with this Shatner roast, I was struck by the choices of roasters. I never even heard of some of them....and the ones I did know (other than Star Trek actors) like Farrah Fawcett, Betty White and Jason Alexander, didn't seem to have any connection to Shatner at all. :confused:

Anybody else think the choice of people on the stage was a little weak? I'm not saying they should have filled the stage with Shatner co-stars or anything, but the man has been around for a long time and I would have thought we would have seen some better known comedians. :confused:

I wasn't impressed - and crude, nasty, insulting "humor" ISN'T humorous, in my opinion - Betty White was about the best on there!

Wm. Shatner is a pompous ass. I took my boy up to Tampa seven or eight years ago for a Star Trek convention and he (Shatner, not my son :) ) was boorish and foul-mouthed. Russell Johnson was there also (why, I have no idea) and he was a gentleman, agreed to a picture with me. (My son still has the picture, he titled it "The Two Professors.") Anyhow, aside from Star Trek Shatner was a B-level actor (some Westerns, the Twilight Zone, etc. on TV) and he never made many big-name friends I bet.

I thought Betty White had too much class to be in that show. Not any more!

Yes I watched most of it. It was funny at first but then became gross. Andy Dick is the most obnoxious person in the world. I don't know how they got away with some of the stuff they were saying.-gross-gross-gross. Shatner deserved better than that. Man Farrah looked terrible. Too many years with the hard drugs I guess.

I watched what I could stomach of it ...... but it was rude, crude, obnoxious and vulgar..... and usually I like that sort of stuff :D

They seemed to be fixated on a few certain body parts. After you hear it a couple times it gets old ...... overall opinion..... a waste of 2 hours :mad:

When it comes to Shatner,I could care less. Self centered *sshole imho... :rolleyes: And no,wouldn't waste my time watching something like that.

Dean Martin would be rolling in his grave if he knew this was what things have come to :(

I was appalled, actually. I'm far from a prude, truly, but that disgusted me far more than it made me laugh. i considered writing CC about it but couldn't find a contact page on their website. I turned it off. I'm not a perpetual 14 yr old Eddie Murphy fan who giggles at profanity and "shock-value" comedy.
