Hate Adopey Acrobat, like me?

I finally got this despicable program out of my life. I really don't like PDFs to begin with, but the fact that every time Adopey reader opened because of some PDF on a site, it meant that after I closed the site I had to go into task manager and shut Acrord32.dll manually. It NEVER closed with the program on any pc I've ever used.

Finally I just deleted the worthless thing and DLed Foxit. A free PDF reader, small DL, and uses less than half the resource of adopey. Oh, and when you close the program, it actually CLOSES. Just had to get that off my chest. Carry on.

I've been using Foxit on MCE (Since XP messed up on my dual boot...and this is by budget setup full of freeware) i like it, as my "adopey" never closed, and had to be zapped in Task Manager everytime it opened, it was too sluggish, and i found Foxit, and it does the job better.

I had that problem too. Been using Foxit for some time now. Great program.

PDF files should be banned..... :cool:

But since that will never happen....I will try this new reader. It can't be any worse than Adobe.....

10x better than adopey. Yes, there never should have BEEN a PDF file created, but since there are, this is the lesser of evils.

Talking of things offensive, the AMD ad on the right side of the page......

I mean come on, my screen here at work is at 1280 x 960 and that ad still scrolls of the page.

That's just ridiculously big and the last thing it does is make me want to look at it.

I know that advertising pays for the site etc, blah blah blah but all I can say is thanks Adblock.

Then something is amiss. I'm using 1152 width and there's no horizontal scrollbar.

No it was the vertical I was referring to.

Just the afct that it was si inyour face using about 1/4 of my screen.

Didn't know there were more people than just me that hate "Adopey". I just got back from vacation, and oh boy...
First words I heard were, "Everything broke while you were gone! The printer isn't working, fax machine was acting up..." etc. etc. :rolleyes:

So, after sending a document to print, it didn't. I went over to the printer, and pushed some buttons and got it to print. (How's that for technical?) My guess is that someone from another branch office had tried to print some .pdf files that they had enlarged and had selected our printer instead of theirs. My printer starts spewing out TONS of pages of enlarged gobbledy-gook looking (yet another technical term) schematics. Then, after that was done, it then printed them out the correct size. An entire pack of paper later, the printer was able to print. So, believe me, I hate adopey, too.

At least I can use all the crap that got printed for copy paper.

Oh, forgot to mention, got pulled by a policeman for making an illegal lane change on my way to work that same day. I crossed a solid line in the intersection to make my lane change - oops! He let me off since he could see no one was about to let me over, but what a start to a hectic day. I almost turned around and went back home. So much for my hub's idea that no one EVER gets pulled driving a mini-van! :rolleyes:

I would've. One morning on the job before this one (to which I had to drive), I left the apt. in a torrential rain. The streets were flooded, the water higher than the sidewalk curb. So I trudged through it, feet soaked (but it was summer so just sandals), and headed for the garage. I finally get the car out and get to the west side hwy, which is ENTIRELY under 6" of water. I mean it the whole hwy was a very shallow lake. I proceeded about 2 miles, when there was an accident right in front of me. I wasn't involved. I got off at the next exit, and it took me an hr to get back home, and i was only 2.5 miles from it. I called in to work, sick.
