can someone pls help in solving a problem whereby i need to replace the first line of all the text files in the current folder?

Hi topdome ... so, you've got a bunch (how many?) text files in a folder. You need to make the first line the same thing in all text files??? Might want to explain this one a bit more me thinks ...

Is the first line the same in all of the files?

Is the first line unique, (i.e., not found elsewhere in the file)?

Which operating system are you going to be using to edit these files?
