Looking for mp3 recorder
I am looking for a decent mp3 recorder. It needs to be able to record about 50 songs sung on mic to be burned onto a cd for sale with an accompanied song book. Free would be good, but willing to dl a trial to see if that program will be sufficient. Thanks for any info.

Audacity is a very good and free program that will record anything inputed into a PC into most audio formats incl MP3. But you'd need to transfer it to CD after it's stored onto the hard drive. I'm not aware of any freebie audio recorders that record directly onto CD but even if there are, that type of direct onto CD recording is not a reliable way to store media in any case.

Are you aware that putting mp3s on to a cd does not constitute a standard cd? It will only be playable on cd players that can handle a data disk with mp3 files and even those may have limitations. My cd/dvd player for example can play mp3 but can only play in the order they are on the disk. You cannot jump tracks. Your disk would work fine on a pc and mp3 players.
If the recording are of value, it's best to record in wav and keep those originals. Just convert to mp3s for the disk. When mp3 is outdated, you can convert your original wavs to whatever the new format is.
