Q: Will the AMD Sempron processor work with any 64-bit OS?
A: The AMD Sempron processor is an entry-level processor for everyday computing needs. Newer technology such as 64-bit operating systems are targeted for higher performance needs such as CAD, audio and video editing, large database applications, high-end consumer games and other high-performance applications. For these uses, we recommend purchasing an AMD Athlon 64 processor, AMD Athlon 64 FX processor, or an AMD Opteron processor-based system.
AMD does have Sempron 64-bit processors though. I use them here in my shop.
