Hi all! My sound card is a Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit, and I am using a Creative 2.1 speaker system. Occasionally when playing games, the speakers make a scratchy static-like noise. This happens mostly in games that make heavy use of EAX, which my sound card fully supports according to Everest. Has anyone had similar issues with EAX like this before?
Make sure your speaker jack is all the way in the sound card speaker port. Also make sure the card itself is secure in its pci slot. You could try moving the jack in or out just a little bit.
Everything seems to be in place properly. I think the problem is my speakers. It is one on those $20 specials I picked up at Wal-Mart a few months back. I'm thinking of upgrading to a Creative 5.1 speaker setup soon. Hopefully that will remedy the problem.
