Attention Netscape Experts: Media Player Plug-in?

I have a website. On that website I have some midis. They will play using Internet Explorer as my browser because I have Windows Media Player embedded,

But when use Netscape as my browser the midis won't play,

Does anyone know of a reliable media player plug-in that is compatible with Netscape other than Crescendo? I had the code for Crescendo on my website and it would play the midis using Netscape, but now that live-update.com doesn't support the crescendo player the code doesn't work.

I tried to find a Netscape plug-in, but either I didn't know what I was looking for or couldn't find a media plug-in player for Netscape
that would work with Windows XP.

If no one knows of a media plug-in player that will play my midis on my website, can anyone tell me if Windows Media player can be used in Netscape to play midis on my website? If this can be done, can you please tell me step by step how to do it. (or refer me to a website that will explain the process.)

Thanks for sending along the link to the code for activating a midi player in
Netscape, but I have one more question. If you can't answer it then that's OK. If you can that's fine too.

I have embed src code on my web page so that windows media player will
play the midi in IE. So. Would this code for Netscape interfere with playing the midi in IE? I mean, would I need to have both sets of code on my web page? Or to put it another way, would I want them both on there?

I wonder if my question was not seen by you or if I didn't phrase my question in a way that made it clear what my concerns were. Can you please reply and let me know if you at least seen this? Or maybe you could find the time to make a bit more clear what the consequences of using the code in that link would be?

If it were me, I'd put both in your web page, one for Internet Explorer and the other for Netscape. Each browser should simply ignore any coding it doesn't understand.

I tried the code offered at the link you provided. It didn't work. At least not the way I wanted it to. What happened was that it would not play directly with Netscape on my website like it does on IE. Instead it put a link to Windows Media Player on my website and if I clicked on that then it would take me to Windows Media Player and then the midi would play.

This seems like the correct code because I have the midi loaded on my website provider and <A HREF> in Netscape usually refers to the location of the file.
So I can't figure out why it won't play. I even have the code for autostart included on my website referring to the code for the midi.

Any other ideas?

Know that this is providing a link to my site on IE. So in order to see it on Netscape where the midi doesn't play you'll need to copy and paste into Netscape, of course.

Guess it depends on your particular setup. The machine I'm on right now is an old laptop running Windows 98SE ... with the following three browsers:

Mozilla Firefox 1.0.4 - sound
Internet Explorer 6.0.2800.1106 - no sound
Netscape 7.2 - sound

I DO NOT mean any offense and it's VERY possible I'm missing something, but in what way is this supposed to help?

On this particular setup I did not have to "...copy and paste into Netscape, of course.". I simply clicked your link in all three browsers.

How odd. I get sound on IE, but not Netscape.

I wonder what a person could do to get sound on all browsers.

Again, it depends on how a particular computer is setup. There are an untold number of software and hardware variables.
