hmmm--I confess to not having read the bleedingcomputer's recommendation. I personally set "Run ActiveX controls and plugins" at Disable. Then when I find a site, like Windows Update, that needs ActiveX to run and which I trust, I put the site into Trusted Sites. (Uncheck the box "Require Server verification...")
I strongly recommend ScriptSentry as described in jmtjet's link. Don't leave home without it.
ScriptSentry - Saved my bacon many a time over the years.
Double Ditto on Script Sentry....saves bacon, and doesn't use system resources at all.
