Hi,
I've been noticing that if my computer has been left on for long durations (ex. 2+ days), my CPU usage will read anywhere between 7-25% CPU usage. This percent is ALWAYS jumping and is in *NO* way consistent. The weird thing is, in my "Processes" tab in Windows Task Manager, NO programs show more than 0% CPU usage, and the system idle process is at 99%. I watched it for quite some time and at the bottom, it constantly read "CPU Usage: 7-25%", although no programs in the list showed ANY CPU usage at all.
I closed all programs and services I had running and the CPU reading was still the same. More symptoms include the system freezing for 1/8 to 1/4 of a second at any given time. This is a very serious freeze because music stops playing and the cursor stops moving during this time. The freeze is very brief, but annoying nonetheless.
So far the only solution to this problem is to do a system restart, which I don't like doing because the problem shouldn't be occurring in the first place. In the past I have not had such a problem. It has only occurred recently (past week or more) and I have no clue as to how it started.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
