Problems with the lastest Microsoft Updates

Anyone that is running a file sharing network and has changed the default permissions on the Windows folder or the drive that contains the Windows folder may have severe problems after installing the latest Windows updates. Symptoms include the Windows Installer will not start, the Windows firewall will not start, the network connections folder is empty, among other things.
