I have downloaded and installed Microsoft.Net Framework 1.1. Immediately after my auto update warned me that I should install Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1.
I have downloaded but instead of installing it is giving me an Error 0x643.
Tried to download and install again but the result is as before.
Any advice please?

PS: I can see Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Hotfix (KB886904 in my Add and Remove Programs.
Have you installed any Hotfixes for .NET Framework? that seem to show a few articles around Google and SP1 clashes with a certain Hotfix, the answer is simple if you have, remove it from Add/Remove Programs and then proceed to install SP1.

I have uninstalled the Hotfix and reinstalled the Net Framework 1.1 SP1 again.
It worked....??? but the puzzle is this-Hotfix got installed in the first place because twice the instillation was unsuccessful in the first place.
