memory upgrade
I have been thinking about getting some new memory of my pc, mainly to play bf2. i currently have 1gb and am thinking about going up to 1.5-2gb. First of all i have found this memory;

i don't know why it is so cheap? there must be something bad about it.
and also will there be a noticeable difference upgrading to 1.5-2gb or is it just overkill. Current system specs are in my sig.

Memory is cheap at the moment. There is nothing bad about Crucial memory at all, it's as good as memory gets. I've used Crucial for years, overclocked it by quite a lot, and never had a problem with it.
I very much doubt that you'll get a very noticeable difference in games performance with any more RAM though. 1GB is plenty really.

ok cool. i will see how it runs for now then. 1 more other quick question. still having trouble with my 6600gt 128mb card, if you remember the problem?, it seemed to be overheating. someone just suggested that it may be power related. i have a 330watt PSU and 300watt is the min required. do you think this could be causing the problem? Cause he suggested more like 400watt.

I agree with SuperSparks regarding the memory. You won't see the diff between 1Gb and 2Gb when playing games. I happen to have 2GB of memory simply because it was there....might as well put it in the machine. :)
Yes, you are kind of riding on the edge there with that psu. I would recommend going to 400 watt or even 500 watt if you plan on near future upgrades.

Yeah, if it's a top-quality brand PSU you may be OK, but the cheap ones rarely put out what they claim to. It really is worthwhile spending a bit extra on a decent PSU, they are a sadly underrated component.

do you think this one will do the job. and i am not planning on upgrading the graphics card, CPU etc again with this PC as i am going to uni and will be spending money on booze :) .

I've never heard of Hiper, so they are a completely unknown quantity I'm afraid. Akasa are well known for fans and stuff, but not particularly for PSU's.
As far as I'm concerned, there are two brands that I will use, these:

Yep i agree with SuperSparks on the antec front, they are quite uber = long lasting, and good quality, well worth your money:)

Double ditto on the Antecs. Those Enermax's aren't bad either. If you want something "pretty"...and pretty reliable....then the UltraX-Connect is nice. That's the one I use (the first one on that page) and it has performed very well....I especially like the modular cable design.
-
hmmm, pretty, not a bad price either considering what you're getting.
-
god dam it why am i so poor! (oh yeah i don't have a job :) ) Well i stretched my wallet with the card then the fans and then a psu. and now it turns out i need a new more expensive one. so i think i might go the cheap option Akasa.

splashed out and got the 'Enermax Noisetaker 485W, in the end. not to cheap :( . and most importantly after spending that money there is no improvement with my graphics situation :( :( . stupid think keeps doing this;

suppose i will have to send it back, costing me even more money.
