Norton AntiVirus 2003 Uninstall Problem

I am trying to uninstall Norton AntiVirus 2003 before Installing McAfree Virus Scan. When prompted for the disc I put it in my cd drive and after a few moments it says it cannot find the file. I used the browse button to loacate the disk however it keeps saying it cannot find it.

I am also having the same issue trying to repair my Acrobat Professional 6.0. It says it is missing the print driver. Same issue as above, cannot find disk.

I have Windows XP,Home Edtion SP2. I would appreciate any help I can get.

Coach17--When I uninstalled NAV 2003 I think I used ControlPanel|Add/Remove Programs. I do not remember being asked to install any CD.
Concerning Acrobat, have you tried uninstalling (also from Add/Remove) before reinstalling? Uninstall/Reinstall often solves missing file problems.

Thanks for the reply. I have fixed both issues. What I had to do was copy the programs form the CD's into a folder on my desktop and then went to uninstall to delete Norton. With Acrobat I did the same thing and was able to repair the program. For some reason (and not always) both my DVD ROM and my DVD Burner does not recognize disks I put into them.

Have you looked in Rightclick My Computer|Properties|Device Manager to see if these devices have yellow warnings? Even if they do not,
1) you could try to look for new drivers using Drivers tab (When you highlight a device, right click|Properties|Drivers tab).
2) you could uninstall the devices. A boot should then reinstall.
Did these devices come with the PC? You may need to have the CD available to search for drivers.

removing more than this means a manual edit and delete of the registry to remove any trace of NAV.
