Hi RobB
Can you post some system specifications including the make and model of motherboard you have installed and operating system.
Have you previously had this card installed in this or another system and what did you remove before installing this card?
BTW Where are you getting this info from have you tried Everest to ensure your reading it correctly?
Showing up where as 128mb? Device Manager? Some diagnostic utility? Could be just a false reading. But if not...what you could do is remove (not disable) the driver from Device Manager, then use Detonator Destroyer to wipe out all remnants, then reboot and reinstall the latest drivers.
Specs are as follows:
Motherboard - Asus K8V SE Deluxe
Operating System - Win XP Pro
I removed a FX5200 which i stuck in temporarily. But did use a program called DC Pro to get rid of all the drivers beforehand.
It's showing up in advanced display properties and on start-up
Cheers
Go to Start>Run and type "dxdiag" without the quotes. See what that reports the card as.
It reports it as 128Mb...!?!
It sounds to me like they've sent you the wrong card then, as everything seems to be in agreement that it is a 128MB card. What make is it?
The card is a GeForce FX5950 ULTRA 256Mb supposedly... i didn't know that they made a 128Mb card.
I think SuperSparks meant what is Manufacturer's name on the card, not the chipset.
The only details on the card are as follows:
GF FX 5950 ULTRA 256MB DDR VIVO DVI
And the nVidia logo printed on the board (but i guess that's just as the board and chip are nVidia)
That's about it...
http://www.leadtek.co.uk/ Might be this one under the 380 series.
I am pretty sure that nvidia does not make any cards.., they only make chips..Quote:
