Windows Protection Error
Stop laughing...
Picture this, a PC has been up and running with no changes to its hardware/software for almost 2 years.
Today I get the protection error message during boot up. I have narrowed it down to the Network adaptor.
If I disable it I can boot up - enable it and join the network.
Why would this happen and can it be sorted without a windows reinstall
Happy Red Box day,
Bugger it, before it buggers you.

Maybe a corrupted driver - try reinstalling the network drivers. Disable the Network card (NIC) and remove it from device manager. Then reboot and enable the NIC again. Reboot reinstall the drivers when prompted.
Not funny, sad - not laughing.
