Mystery cd tray

For some unknown reason my cd tray opens at will and stays open no matter what I do. Very annoying...Any ideas what's happening... :confused:

Does, this only happen while you're in Windows, or does it happen as soon as you turn on the PC?

Sounds to me like your CD drive has gone south. DVD burner prices are coming down. Maybe it's time for an upgrade.

I replaced the drive... first I thought I would check with others to see if there could be a less costly fix... :(
