Cannot delete Acrobat Professional 7

I need some help. When I go to add/delete programs I cannot delete Acrobat Professional 7. It says there are programs running I need to close. Only one program shows and it is Outlook 2000. I do not have it open. How can I delete Acrobat 7. The other issue is even though Outlook is closed I still get an email notification that I have new mail.
Any help would be appreciated.

Try booting into Safe Mode and uninstalling Acrobat from there. That should prevent anything else with interfering with the uninstall.
