How to bypass user login screen?

For some reason my XP Pro system has started booting up to the user login screen, even though no password is required. It used to boot all the way to the desktop; now I have to click on the user name. The same thing happens when the screen saver kicks in. How do I get back to the way it was?

Start>Run and type "control userpasswords2" without the quotes, then in the Users tab uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password...".
