Something wrong here.
Ran Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, Housecall, Panda online scans, but something doesn't seem quite right. Had one scan tell me of Virtual bounce - found no files or reg entries for that, dl'd remover and ran. All other scans come up clean, except Spybot which states there is a DSO exploit - have removed it in normal and safe mode - still comes up - false positive?
Ran CWShredder and SpySubtract - all clean. Running W2kP, DSl shows uploading and downloading traffic with browsers and e-mail closed. Here is my Hijack log, if someone would look at it for problems, I would be very grateful.
Thanks in advance,
frums

Go here for the DSO exploit fix. Make certain though that you have all your critical M$ updates installed.
Scan with hijackthis and tick the boxes next to all the following entries, then close all browser and explorer windows, and hit the "Fix checked" button.

Thanks crunchie
DL'd the patch for Spybot and it worked great - no DSO probs. Did as requested with the Hijack log, but for some reason, the 09 entry does not get changed / removed. Should this be done in Safe Mode? Have attached a new Hijack Log. BTW, re-booted after running Hijack and fixing the probs you pointed out, as per prompt.

Update hijackthis to version 1.99.1. Run hijackthis & go to *Config\Misc Tools\Check for update on-line*. If the site is down, go here. Remove the old version by opening the program, going to config\misc tools, then uninstall & exit. You then have to delete the file manually. Unzip the new version into the hijackthis folder.
Run hijackthis again and see if it will remove that 09 entry. Remember that you must have all browser windows closed before attempting the fix.
-
Ok....
Did as you suggested Crunchie, ran new version, tried to clean 09 - no luck. Browser and windows all closed - just reg desktop and Hijack window. Here is the new log.

The final solution
Got home and tried running Hijack again to remove the 09 entry - still no luck. Did regedit search for the key, found it and wiped it. Now I no longer have anything running in the background going online up and dl'ing.
Thanks crunchie for your help. It was very much appreciated.
Puter working fine again.
Thanks again,
