Another XP hidden folder
I know that you can't find "index.dat" in XP windows explorer without knowing where it is and manually typing the path into the address bar.
However, while cleaning some viruses off of a teenage relatives machine, AVG found some infected dual extension files in:
"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents".
Even with "Show hidden files and folders" enabled and "Hide protected operating system files" disabled that folder isn't visible in windows explorer.
So I had to manually complete the path to get in there. I was then able to manually delete the infected files.

Thanks DVOM it sure enough is there!
It is called "Shared Documents" for most of us and is visible.

Train, I've got "Shared Documents" also. I'm not talking about that folder.
Go to "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users" and complete the path with "\Documents" and you'll see what I mean.

I did .
Fact is, I pasted a text file into it.
Then opened the shared file and there it was. My Address Bar reads the same too.
Humm, point to ponder

Train, Hmmmm.... is right.
I see what you mean, "Shared Documents" isn't the real path name for that folder.
So it isn't hidden, M$ has just renamed it.

Sure seems that way to me.
