Problem

well
my one computer in network is down and when i power on the computer gives nothing but a blank black screen.(the monitor and harddisk light is on)
only that empty black screen then nothing happens or comes.
I think the system is ok as i have win 2000 and if system was out then it should have given what it says the screen of death with blue screen.
so any body has any help what the real problem...?

actually i open a mail from some one i know some days ago i yahoo mail,the mail doesnt have any attachment but when i opened it it didnt opne rather the it gave me some windows explorer kind of dialog box to debug to so....

so is that a problem .
I want to scan that one mail using any online scanner.Can i do that .?(for virus ,trojan,RAT)
please some body help....

Are you getting the POST screen when youy first power up, or is the seceen completely dead? If it is completely dead, take the side of the case and check that everything is correctly seated, especially the graphics card.
