my new build..., I am going to ask for only cash for christmass, and spend alot of my money in the bank to get a new system-

I don't know about the ram.., a few friends have recommended cosair.., what do you guys think?

I have all the drives I need..., I may get a DVD-/+RW in the near future.., but not right now

I also have a creative 5.1 live, thinking about getting an audigy 2, but not at the moment..

for the PSU..., I have 2 HDD's, and I may goto 3, and I have 2 optical drives.., and I want to have upto 6 fans in my case..
how much wattage do I need? I think I am going to go antec...

how about the case?, what do you guys recommend?
the last case I got was a pain in the ass...

now, the fans, I like my sunon fans, I think I am going to get more of them.., but for the CPU, for my intel I used the one that came with it, but for I have heard that AMD fans suck.., what fan should I get for my CPU?

For RAM, any of the top brands should be fine. I've always used Crucial myself, and I'm OC'ing it in one of my PC's without the slightest problem, in case you ever want to go down that road.

For the PSU, as long as it's a good make (I like Antec or Enermax), then 350Watts or above will be fine. But the important thing with PSU's is not the overall wattage, but how much current it can supply on each rail. Again that won't be an issue with the top brand PSU's given what you are intending to put in it.

For my last build I used the Antec 1080 case, and I love it. It's got stacks of room, is very nicely made, and comes with a top-notch PSU. It is very heavy though, if you were thinking of going to LAN parties at all.

It pays to use quality RAM. I use Crucial and have never had a problem.

As long as you are building a "state of the art" computer I'd include a quality DVD-/+RW drive. The prices are coming down fast. Lite-on or Pioneer would be a good choice for a burner.

k, I guess I'll go with cosair, kingston, crucial, or something in that area..., as I was planning to before..

also, I was looking at a 430 Antec PSU, that looked nice...


I do plan to take it to LAN parties..., the case I have right now is very heavy..., well, not that heavy, but heavier then my friends...
I guess I'll look around some more and see what I can find..

I was thinking about getting a DVD-/+RW but I dont think that I will have much of a use for it.., If I get one, I am going to wait a few months.., I was thinking about getting a Lite-on one, they are only about $60 now..

With the newer AMD cpus, the XP2500 barton and newer the retail hsf that comes with them work just fine for me. I will accept 41 - 43C temps anyday.
Now if your cpu is not in the area I listed, post what it is please.

the cpu comes with the mobo and CPU package in my first post..
its a AMD Athlon 64 3400+, so I guess it'll be fine...

30 ibs..., too bad we dont have a scale.., cause I think that the case I have right now is that area..., I couldnt' find my exact model at the site.., but a simular looking one was 27 ibs.., tho the fact that it was simular looking maybe just that...

I don't take it to lan parties that often, maybe about every month, so it shouldn't bother me too much.., I hope..
