sorry if the things has been already discussed
well the prob is ok when i open some files in word or other application usually the link remain in file menu in some form
may be in recent files or so
so is there any way we can remove those things as soon as we close files
manually or aitomatically
i think its all registry
i know some of it
so can any body say how can i do that

well one way is removing file from the location ok last time if the file was open from c drive remove from c now or change folder

Hi there.
The "Most Recently Used" list (MRU) settings vary between applications.
In Microsoft Word, you would look in Tools>Options>General - Recently used file list = x Entries
Change this to 0 to ensure opened files are not visible in the File menu.
This is also stored in the Windows Registry but it's far easier to let the application control it.

There is always MRU-Blaster.

The latest version of Ad-Aware also picks up MRU file lists and gives you the oportunity to delete them.
