steppenwolf--Outlook or Outlook Express??
Probably.Quote:

You can password protect the OE program but I think that requires a third party program.

OE File\Switch Identity|Manage Identities|Properties offers the option to create a password for an identity, but then says the degree of security is only "moderate", and that others can see some of the data (undefined). Never used it.
outlook express
i wonder why it doesnt ask for password before you send or does it?
I assume it is becauseQuote:

1) You have not password protected OE
2) You have checked the box "Remember pasword" in OE Tools|Accounts|Properties|Servers. (So, yes, using the ISP does ask for a password, but you are giving it automatically.)
no i dont save any passwords like that for isp or outlook
but if they put on own isp i guess if the emails were there it seems emilas could be sent
do you use outlook welsh jim?
Howdy:
They could put their own ISP on your system but that wouldn't allow them to use your email address.. That address is only good for your I(SP so, if you have the "remember password" unchecked for your email program, then they cannot use it..
ie: ISP is bell.ca my email is [email protected]
If someone stole my system, as long as I had the "remember password" option disabled, they would not be able to log on to my email and send anything using my address..
Now, they put their own ISP and email on my system.. they still cannot use my email address as it is registered to bell.ca NOT to their email server !!

but what if you run other email accounts though outlook like nerdshack.com?
i guess not ,unless im connected to my isp ,, but i sent it without the passwords
i guess the fact im connected tells it to send
i guess im overly paranoid
