I was cleaning up my computer etc. And disk clean up won't run. It stays at calculating free space and uses 100 cpu usage. I lefted it like this for 30 minutes and still didn't go no where.

Try it in Safe Mode?
Go into regedit and navigate to the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VolumeCaches\Compress old files
Make sure you back that key up before you do anything after this. Delete the key, run the disk cleanup and restore the key afterwards by double clicking on the registry entry you exported and allowing to be put back in.
Thanks, About time I got it work right. Will I have to do that everytime I want to run it?
I just now saw that in registry and wondering what would happen if one changed the value inside the parenthesis's from (300) to (0) on Priority?
I never had 2 but that was after I failed to keep up maintenance for quite some time. I haven't had the problem again.
and photolady I will jam all I can up and repost in the morning. Just to see. I'm not quite sure the relevence of that key. I understand it but not sure of the lower number and the impact.
