can't access Hotmail - Blaargh virus?

after scanning users Hard-Disk with latest version of McAfee 4.5.1 SP1 and latest definitions (4363), it found about 42 viruses. After deleting these viruses, user complains of not being able to login to hotmail. I found the following few "fixes" in the following links. Relevant?
