yahoo messenger problem

when i click on right on yahoo page to download messenger i get this page .. why?

If so then that is where you download it from.

i guess when you click it it comes out normal.. i had a dutch version of windows 95 so i formated to get driver for sound and put on american version and i have some international problem i guess

i click the icon for messenger and the window closes and says illegal operation.

why?

I would do a Custom uninstall of yahoo messenger and redownload it. You will lose any saved messages etc with that uninstall.

i guess i cant make this clear,, when i go to the yahoo home page to click to download messenger i cant even get to the page it closes and says illegal operation

i did download the old version at oldversion.com
but of course it doesnt work

maybe because i have this in 16 color and no driver for video yet?

What operating system do you have? Because the new 6.0 does not support 95 or NT.

WELL FOR SOME REASON I GOT THE INTERNATIONAL YAHOO PAGE.. WHY I DONT KNOW ,,,SO I FInNaLY CLICKED ON THE CANaDIAN AND I NOW HAVE THE CANaDIAN VERSION OF YAHOO AND IT SEEMS TO WORK OK AND I THINK ITS VERSION 5.5

it seems to be ok except im stuck in 16 color and at times all the browser windows will close

I'm glad you found a version that works.

As for you getting the international yahoo page, I'm not really sure why you get that. I don't see how your colors on your computer would affect which web site comes up. Maybe send yahoo an email and ask them. Sorry I can't be more help with that problem.

on my win98 computer i get the same weird page and a message an error occured on a plug in thing in a grey box
