Windows\tracing?
Running W2KPro, Intel mb, ADSL with router and firewall, av etc. When I do a regclean on the puter, I find there are many entries for C:\Windows\Tracing. Doing a search on Google gives me information that this is used by the OS for debugging etc. on drivers or whatever. Since I do not use debugging myself, or engage in coding at all, is there a legitimate reason why I have to or should have this running? Can it be removed safely? With what consequences? It has not caused any problems, but at the same time, I like to run a clean machine, and this would apprear - to me - as being unnecessary.
Any comments or information would be appreciated.

Hmmm, I came up with some different info that suggests it's to do with Point to Point Protocol logs. Whichever is correct, there shouldn't be any harm in truning it off.

Thanks SuperSparks for the reply. I did find that link also and checked it out. I did not think it would apply to my situation as I do not use Dial-up, am connected using ADSL 24/7. Therefore no dialup manager etc. in control panel. Not sure how this applies to PPP protocol - more information needed about that. Just don't know where to look or what exactly to look for. Will try some more searches and see what else I can find. Any other suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,

As a followup - did find some info on the M$ site, that this is also used by admins etc., to trace employees use of the internet etc. Since I am the only one on this puter, did a reg backup, and then disabled the tracing. Will see if that gives me any problems.
Thanks again,
