I don't claim Dell to be superior, but I do wish they could speak english.
(Although I do enjoy the Indian guys named Mark and Matt.)
A good thing about Dell is that you very seldom have to call support!
I’ve been using them since the 386 days and think I’ve only called them maybe three times. They read from scripts as I sure all manufacture support people do. You’ll probably never find a skilled pc person answering the phone for the small wages.
I don't claim Dell's tech support superior, but I agree with Steve, they are good computers that seldom break down where you can't fix them. The online version of Dell, usually has all drivers needed and the website is easy enough to navigate to find those drivers. ;)
btw, my brother says those tech support on phone are actually street people they (computer tech support) use. :D
I heard what MUST be a rumor that Dell plays John Wayne movies to those guys in India so they can brush up on their English.
<Riiiiiiiiiing!>
Well, hi'ya pilgrim! This is Dell Support , uh-huh!
Uh....yes....I'm having trouble booting up.
Well...it'll be kinda hard to.....ride the range without a boot, uh-huh. That's a joke, son. We'll just have to....do somethin' about that, pilgrim. Have you rounded the wagons in a circle yet?
?????.....Excuse me?
Fill yer hand, pilgrim! We got to git that boot a'workin' or, by golly, we....won't be able git them doggies to pasture! Wagonnnns, Ho!
Excuse me....could I please talk to a supervisor?!?
So yer....ditchin' out on me, huh? Why, mister...those are fightin' words, uh-huh! Why I oughta.....Let's step outside.........Hello? Hello? Are you there, pilgrim? Hello?
Sign in their coffeebreak area: Showing next week--the entire Godfather series....
LOL Very funny Bistro:D:D
Now that'd what I call a script Bistro! Somehow I don't think that's quite what Steve and photolady had in mind though. ;)
As far as not finding "a skilled pc person answering the phone for the small wages" I wouldn't be so sure. Before the 'IT bubble' burst Ottawa was knick-named the Sillicon Valley of Canada.
I know a couple of HP/Compaq employees who are fully certified and highly educated but lack the work experience to get a better paying job in a market that is glutted with unemployed, university educated, ex-Nortel staffers with years and years of experience and the same certifications. I maybe getting cynical as I approach middle age but something tells me that India's unemployment rate has never been close to single digits. There is a reason why tech support is called an entry level position after all.
If there is a database floating out there with scripts for every conceivable computer error will you let me know where you found it? I'll hire the homeless for minimum wage and get rich quick. ;)
Dude, yer gettin' a Dull!!!
