Dial up connection box
After upgreading my Norton Antivirus to 2004 (online) whenever I open my IE6 my dial up connection box does not come up. Even if I take the tick off from File/work offline. Basically I can only connect to internet through OE6.
Might be a very simple solution..Would anyone be able to give an advice please?

OK..Found out why..System information showed me that my Google toole bar files were corrupted. There was absolutely nothing wrong untill I installed Norton Antivirus 2004.
Uninstalled and re-installed the Google Tool Bar, keep fingers cross everything is OK.

Hmmm! I discovered yesterday that I have the same problem. I used to be able to click on IE to open up the dial up box and then connect. Now it just says no internet connection is available and to either work offline or try again. Launching Outlook Express however does work and I can connect through that.
I have made no changes and have installed no new software or updates.
Tried repairing IE from the remove/programs but to no avail! And Spybot search and destroy!
My internet settings are to always dial my default which is my broadband connection.
Its a mystery!
Running XP home, IE 6.
No other error messages or anything! Comp is running fine apart from this niggly little fault!
Cheers
Tim (now 36! lol)

Yeah THE EXACT PROBLEM AS MINE.
Tim32, do you have a google tool bar installed too?
Though I thought i had solved the problem by reinstalling the google tool bar it reverted back to same problem the next day. I now realised that if the google toolbar is not displayed my IE6 work perfectly well.
Like you said....Its a mystery!
I don't know...may be it's got something to do with latest IE6 update, google bar or in my case may be a some sort of a software conflict with Norton Antivirus 2004.
May be someone will be able to tell us.

Yep, after reading yours, I tried the google toolbar removal and reinstallation but it didn't work for me.
Haven't got Norton. Am using EZ Trust Antivirus and Firewall but have never been a problem!

Tim, uncheck your google bar...close IE6, re-open and it should work..mine does.

Hey Hmmmm! You're right! It worked for me too!
How wierd is that?? Now all we need is a solution!
Cheers for your help :)
