Epson Stylus C84 Printer
I am interested in any comments on the Epson Stylus C84 printer. I have seen reviews both pro and con. I want to use this mainly as a photo printer since I have a laser printer for other printing, and I can get a real deal on the C84. I have a Lexmark Z55 and can get a C84 for the same price as replacement cqartridges for the Z55.
Thanks in advance for any comments,
Brian:)

A 6 ink printer, such as Epson's RX300 will do a better job on photos than a 4 ink printer such as the C84. However, it will be as good or better than your Lexmark and the ink is MUCH cheaper.
The C84 is, in my opinion, the best low price, non-photo (4 ink) printer on the market. Very fast, high res, does 44 inch long banners, separate ink cartridges, non-smear, fade-resistant ink.
The only issue is ink drying in the print heads. If you don't use the printer every week, or more often, don't buy an Epson. If you do buy an Epson, always use the power button on the printer to turn the unit off when it's not in use. This caps the cartridges, limiting evaporation. More important, when you turn it on, it does a mini-head cleaning which helps avoid clogged print heads.
Even so, expect to do full head cleanings occasionally at a cost of a dollar or two in ink.

Lets say you don't mind paying the full retail price for the four cartridges, then this might be what your looking for,but remember the full price will be rather high for three separate colors and a black one....:) This is not the only ink refill site there are many when you look for them, this is only an example of whats out there..
