Mustek digital camera 5.0, ever hear of it?

I saw a Mustek 5.0 megapixel on sale on TV - can't find anything about it. Anybody know about it? All help appreciated. Norm69

Thanks to you both. I did go online and review the reports on this camera - one review was long and comprehensive - and kinda funny - opening comment was 'when you go cheap - you get cheap!' The illustration on TV on this camera probably bordered on 'bait and switch' as what it showed was equal to a Canon EOS or top of the line Nikon. Anyway, I'll get one of the established digital cameras, or dust off one of my half dozen 35mm SLR's already have.

It is the marriage of high megapixels with a good lens that produces high quality images. If it doesn't say Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Minolta, Zeiss, Leica... on the lens, don't buy without checking an independent review.

To all who provided advice - I aborted any intentions for the Mustek camera and have purchased a Canon, 3.3 megapixel digital camera. Its an ELPH that is rather small in size, but has plenty of features for a rookie user with rechargeable lithium battery and recharger. Now realize I'll need a memory card to store adequate number of pics, etc. A question I have is: my computer has winME with 40 gb, and 1 gbHZ processor - but only has a single USB port. Now, when I get ready to attach the camera pics memory card, how do I do that with only one USB port being used by the mouse? Do I need to purchase and install a second USB port? Is that approximately same as installing modems and/or sound cards? I am aware of printers especially designed for these cameras, but not real knowledgeable about them. As always, all help appreciated. Norm

Norm69--Buy a USB hub, which plugs into the one port you have and gives you 4-6 USB outlets. Buy one that is powered. And if it does not already come with the hub, buy a short cable with USB plugs at both ends so that the hub does not have to be plugged directly into the PC tower, if it even would fit.
(I told you to buy an extra memory card.)

You can have up to 127 USB devices per computer. The hubs can be daisy chained if nescessary.

Jerryctx:Welshjim - thanks for the suggestions on a hub - didn't realize that. One thing - after I wrote the last post - THEN I started reading literature on the 'puter and found out it has a direct connection for the camera. But, I still like the hub idea, cause undoubtedly I'll have a need in the future. One thing, it is confusing to buy one of these cameras - there are so many with little variations in the features each one has. And seems to me that the clarity of the pics is the primary advantage, cause what you may save in film and developing you spend on ink and memory card and paper, etc. Now I guess all I have to do is charge the lithium batteries and put it together and point and shoot and read the menu items and begin to figure it out. Unless you plan on making pictures greater than 8X10 you should shoot at fairly low dpi to get more shots on the memory disk.
