USB link problem

I purchased a USB cable to link my notebook to my desktop for the main purpose of trying to ghost image my notebook to my desktop DVD+R, this would save me several disk. When I run ghost on my notebook it does not recognize my USB connection. I have tried everything without any success. Is what I am trying to do even possible?:confused:

Ghost 2003 can definitely do it, and it can even include USB DOS drivers along with the image on the DVD.
